DCS / SCADA Integration

EnviroEye is designed to integrate cleanly into existing DCS or SCADA architectures without forcing changes to established control philosophies. The system can communicate status, alarm conditions, and valve position to the control room, allowing operators to monitor drain conditions alongside other critical tank systems.

Integration is intended to enhance situational awareness, not complicate it. EnviroEye functions independently at the field level while providing clear, actionable signals to the control system when intervention or documentation is required.

Discrete Signals vs. Analog

EnviroEye primarily uses discrete signals to communicate system status and alarm conditions. This approach provides unambiguous, easy-to-interpret information—such as normal operation, alarm active, or valve closed—without requiring operators to interpret trending data or set complex thresholds.

Where required, analog signals can be provided to support site-specific monitoring or logging practices. Signal configuration is flexible and can be aligned with existing control standards and operator preferences.

Local vs. Remote Alarms

Local alarms provide immediate, on-site indication of abnormal conditions through audible and visual alerts. These alarms are intended to draw attention during active operations or maintenance activities near the tank or drainage area.

Remote alarms extend awareness beyond the field by transmitting alarm conditions to the control room or designated monitoring systems. Remote notification options, including text alerts, allow facilities to maintain awareness during unattended operation, severe weather events, or off-hours conditions.

Manual Override Philosophy

EnviroEye is designed to automate response while preserving operator authority. Manual override capability allows operators to intervene when necessary, such as during maintenance, testing, or abnormal operating scenarios.

Automation is intended to remove delay from routine decision-making, not to prevent informed human intervention. Overrides are deliberate and controlled, ensuring that changes to system state are intentional and visible to operations personnel.

Power Requirements (High-Level)

EnviroEye is designed for low, predictable power consumption suitable for continuous operation in industrial environments. Power requirements are compatible with common facility power standards and can be configured to align with site-specific electrical practices.

In the event of power loss, the system responds in a defined and predictable manner consistent with its fail-safe design philosophy. Power considerations are addressed early in system configuration to ensure reliable operation without imposing unusual infrastructure demands.
